Meet our Pastor - Jose Juan Rodriguez
I began being discipled when I first came to the United States in Greensboro, NC. I started serving in church in different ministries like music and teaching and the Lord led me to start Bible study sessions when my family and I moved to Mexico for two years, due to my visa status. Soon the group grew, both in number and spiritually, so I pushed them to become members of a church. A good number of them decided to start a new mission, called Beracca and supported by my church, the Iglesia Bautista Eliacim in Ciudad Madero, Mexico. When I came back to North Carolina, the Lord took me to start a Hispanic mission work in Lexington, which was supported by Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, the Liberty Baptist Association and the North Carolina Baptist State Convention. This work began in 2001 and is now a big, strong congregation with a full time Pastor. In 2003 the Lord brought me to south Texas, where I served in different areas under the direction of Pastor Noe Ortiz in Alice, TX, and from 2005 to 2009 I led the Primera Iglesia Bautista in San Diego, TX. In September of 2009 I was invited to serve as Interim Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where I still serve the Lord to date.
