Baptism is . . .
a visible demonstration of a believer’s union with Christ in His death and resurrection.
For Believers
Baptism is for those who have repented and put their faith in Christ.
By Immersion
Immersion depicts the believer’s death and resurrection in Christ.
At Cornerstone, we practice believer’s baptism by immersion. Baptism depicts how the Christian is united with Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection.
Going underneath the water illustrates how the sinful person is crucified and buried with Christ. Coming out of the water illustrates how the individual is united in Jesus’ resurrection, giving the person a new life and a new way of living in Christ.
Those seeking baptism must meet with an Elder to ensure they are saved and that they understand the meaning of baptism.
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
